On August 11th, Lebanon was hit hard by two powerful storm systems, with winds reaching around 100 mph, along with heavy rain that left behind a tremendous amount of damage. Trees and large limbs came down across streets, yards, and properties, while power outages added another challenge for residents. Through it all, the Lebanon Department of Public Works answered the call, working hard to keep the community moving. Crews were out clearing fallen trees and branches, opening roads, removing debris, and addressing the many hazards left behind by the storms. It was been a big job, and one that takes time, especially when damage is spread throughout the community. 
While Lebanon is still very much in storm cleanup mode, the hard work of the Department of Public Works is making a noticeable difference. Crews were out in the community tackling one area at a time and helping Lebanon get back to normal. Additionally, the DPW added an extra brush week(resident brush pick up) community wide to help residents with their storm pick up.
The work isn’t always easy or glamorous, but it is essential—and it’s a great example of the people who keep our community running stepping up when they’re needed most. As cleanup continues, the Lebanon community can be thankful for the dedication and long hours being put in by the Department of Public Works and everyone working behind the scenes to help our city recover.
