Eclipse Watch Parties – Downtown

Downtown Lebanon was absolutely packed on Eclipse Day! The celebration was 80s themed, and dubbed “Total Eclipse in The Heart.”

Downtown wasn’t the only crowded place in Lebanon on April 8th, 2024. The Memorial Park set a scene straight out of a sardine can. Not only did the park experience astronomical totality, but also a totality of fun!

Abner Longley Park was packed on April 8th. Out-of-town visitors as well as Lebanon residents enjoyed the event from the park’s beautiful wide open spaces.

The Path

of Totality //

Only 43 million people — 0.5% of the world’s population — live in what is known as the path of totality, meaning they will experience this total solar eclipse. There’s no comparison between a partial solar eclipse and total solar eclipse.

People who have experienced the latter often say it is a deeply moving event that binds the observer to the Cosmos.

A once in a lifetime event, like being in the path of totality, is a BIG deal. Lebanon Eclipse organizers want you to be prepared to mark this occasion in fine fashion. Below are three additions that we hope will make the 2024 eclipse one that you’ll never forget!

Eclipse Glasses

Proper eyeware is essential to safely view the eclipse. Certified glasses are available at several locations throughout the city, including at all eight Watch Party locations.

Eclipse SWAG

Help mark the eclipse occassion with some free SWAG (Stuff We All Get). Free items will be available at the City Municipal Building (401 South Meridian Street), as well as at the Parks & Recreation office, and the Witham Family YMCA. Stickers, wristbands, and other fun items will be available.

Time Capsule

After the eclipse on April 8th, 2024, the next time Lebanon, IN will be in the path of totality won’t be until February 25th of 2343.

Lebanon Eclipse organizers are are putting together a time capsule, in the hopes of it being opened 300+ years from now!

More @ Memorial

Come out to Memorial Park on Saturday, April 6th for a fun evening celebrating the 2024 Solar Eclipse!

Inflatable Axe Throwing, Hoop Shoot, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, and multiple Cornhole Boards will be provided by Jump N Play Party Rentals. There will be multiple food trucks available and music provided by Journey and Jet Band.

Starting at 6pm, TOY FACTORY will be performing on the Bandstand Stage until 8pm. This is a FREE event and we hope to see you there!

It’s a totally 80’s weekend in the Heart of Lebanon, Indiana for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024! Think Neon, Roller Skating, Rubik’s Cubes, Video Games, look-a-like contest, live 80’s music, lasers and more!

This will be an EPIC Total Eclipse in the Heart, most definitely!

Party in the Parks!

Need a place to see the Total Solar Eclipse here in Lebanon? Come out to Abner Longley Park on Monday, April 8th! There will be a live DJ starting at 11am, to go along with tailgating, and fun giveaways!

At Memorial Park, tailgate in the designated parking areas, and enjoy concessions sold out of the Seashore Waterpark Concession Stand. Professional photographer? This is the spot for you!

Eclipse Camping!

Come view this once-in-a-lifetime event, the total solar eclipse, at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Indiana. The total eclipse will be visible on Monday, April 8, 2024 starting at 3:07 PM and will last for 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Come early and see it from the beginning as the moon and sun start to overlap at 1:50 PM.

Be a VIP at Seashore!

Lebanon Parks & Recreation is offering VIP Viewing on the Seashore Waterpark Pool Deck on Eclipse Day 2024! Take advantage of this opportunity to have immediate access to restrooms and concessions, reserved seating, FREE drinks from the concession stand, along with viewing glasses and a free t-shirt per chair!

Chairs are sold in packages of 4 and each package is $120.00. ONE CHAIR PER PERSON. Children 2 and under are FREE. You will check in at the Seashore Waterpark Concession Stand. Gates open at 11am and close at 4pm.
