Year one of Boone County Summer Fest is in the books. The two-day event featured a total of eight bands, showcasing a wide range of musical stylings. The event was sponsored by the City of Lebanon, the Boone County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Blonde Entertainment, and Tim Neuman Music. In addition to the music, 26 booths served up: food, beverages, shopping, and carnival games. The event was held on the downtown square, and ran from noon until 8pm on June 5th and 6th.
Cecelia Kenna, whose family operated a space at Summer Fest said, “We always enjoy the opportunity to work in our home town.” The Kenna family is actually donating a portion of their proceeds to the Packing Hope, a charity that partners to provide tangible support for foster and kinship families in Boone County.
To help improve the event in future years, organizers shared a survey with the public, to help determine what elements went well during the event, and help identify areas of improvement.
