NewCold Announces Phase 3 Expansion at Lebanon Facility
Lebanon, Ind. — The City of Lebanon, the Boone County Economic Development Corporation (Boone EDC), and the State of Indiana today announced NewCold’s Phase 3 expansion at its Lebanon facility, marking a major milestone in the company’s continued growth and long-term commitment to Boone County.
“NewCold’s third expansion in Indiana is a testament that global companies can build a robust operation here,” said Governor Mike Braun. “With a central location, a skilled workforce and a committed community, NewCold has all the tools and resources needed to serve its customers and succeed here in the center of the U.S.”
The proposed Phase 3 expansion is expected to generate a capital investment of more than $500 million and create over 200 permanent positions. These roles will include warehouse operations, maintenance, logistics coordination, and supervisory positions, all offering competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and clear pathways for career advancement. The new building will feature state-of-the-art automated storage and retrieval systems to transfer and store products for its food industry customers in sub-zero temperature conditions. 
The expansion follows NewCold’s investment of over $300 million across the first two phases of the Lebanon campus, including the successful 2024 opening of the second phase, which doubled the original capacity.
From a global perspective, Phase 3 is NewCold’s largest project worldwide in terms of both capital investment and total square footage. NewCold was launched in 2012 and is now the world’s third-largest refrigerated food logistics provider, delivering advanced temperature-controlled supply chain solutions.

Beyond the facility itself, NewCold is investing in infrastructure improvements that will benefit Lebanon’s broader business community and residents. The project includes construction of a new electrical substation to support the business park’s growth, road extensions to improve regional access, and pedestrian pathways connecting to surrounding areas.
