Last week, LFD had the opportunity to train with our public safety partners throughout Boone County. Whitestown Division Chief of EMS Brandi Cunningham and Assistant. Boone County EMS Director Natasha Click organized a mass casualty incident training. The training event was held at Zore’s Towing.
“It’s going to be loud,” said the instructor prior to the training. “People are injured. We want to make it as realistic as possible.”
“Today we did mass casualty,” said Boone County EMS Assistant Director Natasha Click. “It is a car into bus (scenario). We had live patients inside and outside the bus. We actually had more than 40 participants, so it was a great turnout. It’s the largest scenario that I’ve ever actually been a part of, so it’s been a really fun experience for everybody.”
“I actually think it went better than expected,” added Click. “It was great. These kids actually came from vocational programs that are doing fire, EMS, and police, and so they get to see the other side of it today. They really helped make the scenario successful. It couldn’t have gone better.”
