Volunteers and staff received awards and kudos during the recent Boone County Senior Services, Inc., annual celebration and breakfast.
The agency that promotes senior independence served 2,369 individuals through programs and services in 2024, Executive Director Anita Bowen told an audience of mostly senior citizens, who are friends and volunteers.
Of that total, 882 people made 22,803 trips via the Boone Area Transit System, operated by Boone County Senior Services.
The agency gives three annual awards and recognizes staff for landmark years of service during its annual banquet.
