LEBANON, IN: When Brady Martin, general manager at 1830 Chophouse and managing partner of Unforgettable Catering, walked over to the Eberhard Ballistics gun and ammo shop next door on the Lebanon square, he didn’t have a big plan.
“We struck up a conversation about purchasing the building and the business and they were open to it. My business partner, Rob Crawford, acquired the building and then we bought out all of their inventory,” Martin said. “I wasn’t planning on opening a sporting goods store but it made sense and it’s something we needed here in Lebanon.”
Lane & Brown Sporting Gear officially opened Thanksgiving weekend. It’s named after the old hardware store that sat on the property in the late 1800s.
“Back then, the hardware store is where you’d get your supplies, including guns and things like that,” Martin said. “There’s a mural on the side of the Chophouse of the Lane & Brown Hardware store, so that’s how we chose it for our sporting gear store.”
Customers will notice some big changes too.
