The 30th annual Back to the Fifties festival promises new music and food and more entertainment, fun, and vendors Friday and Saturday at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in Lebanon.
Admission and parking are free, as always.
The nostalgic Back to the Fifties Festival will also celebrate the 60th anniversaries of the Beatles and the Ford Mustang, chairwoman Carmen Ottinger said.
The British Invasion came in February 1964 when The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, and Ford Motor Co. debuted the Mustang the same year.
The Rigbys, a Beatles tribute band from Evansville, will play a Beatles tribute at 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the main stage at the fairgrounds. And the festival will award special trophies for classic Mustangs entered into this year’s classic and custom-car cruise-in.
Registrations for the cruise-in have already come in from several states, and participants will cruise from the fairgrounds to Memorial Park this year and, hopefully, pick up more classic cars at another cruise-in scheduled for downtown Lebanon over the weekend, Ottinger said.
