There continues to be increasing momentum associated with the Stone Eater Bike Park development. Increased amounts of dirt, and funding have really put this pedal project on the fast track. In this installment of the Stone Eater Bike Park Update, we take a look back at some of the changes that have taken place at the former city landfill site, and what exciting new elements that are on the horizon.
“This is just the beginning,” City Engineer Kevin Krulik said in July of 2022. “This isn’t much now. We need approximately 150,000 cubic yards of dirt. To put that in perspective, there is only 30 or 40 cubic yards of dirt on site right now.”
My how things have changed in a year! Massive amounts of earthwork continue to be delivered to the former city landfill and future Stone Eater Bike Park location, with more exciting developments on the way.
“We are just excited that we are to this point,” added Krulik. “We are looking forward to the next steps and hopefully we are riding bikes out here in another six to eight months. Click here to learn more about Stone Eater Bike Park.
