{Content Courtesy: The Lebanon Reporter} Transportation has always been an important part of a community’s needs and according to some, ride share programs like Uber and Lyft aren’t typically coming out to a rural community like Boone County. However, other businesses have been popping up that make traveling from point A to point B much easier.
Winter has already treated central Indiana with a deep freeze and the forecast shows a chance of snow on the way, prompting those that walk to work or aren’t comfortable driving in certain weather conditions to stay at home, unless otherwise necessary.
In addition, the economy and issues surrounding the current workforce has left students without a bus ride to school or a family with a broken-down car, forcing residents to find other means of transportation.
The Boone Area Transit System (BATS) has been a mainstay in the community since 2006, transporting the public for a small fee, but they aren’t the only one.
Currently, there are at least three taxi services in operation serving the City of Lebanon: Aloha Taxi, Premier Taxi and Ope! Need a Taxi.
