The buzz surrounding the sport of pickleball in Lebanon continues to gain momentum. On Saturday, June 18th, the Parks Department held the city’s first outdoor pickleball tournament. A total of 18 teams, 4 in the Beginners Bracket and 14 in the Experienced Bracket, took part in the festivities. A mixture of local and out-of-town players took part in the all day tournament. In the Beginner’s Bracket, “Team Smash ‘n Dash” were the winners. The championship game in the Experienced Bracket saw “Team 2 Guys” defeat “Team Noodle Arms.”

Winners received a pickleball bag, a water bottle, and a trophy. Organizers were pleased with the number of participants and spectators that turned out for the event.

“We were very happy with the way the tournament turned out and are looking forward to putting on more tournaments in the future,” said Parks Programs Director Allyson Morton.
